watched a movie
I saw this movie
yesterday, it’s called “gaami” and it was the most beautiful dystopian Telugu
movie I have ever seen. This kind of dystopia, I think, is the first time in Telugu
films. I loved it so much. I'm not one to watch movies or even write about one
and if this movie got me reviewing it, you should understand it’s kind of a big
deal to me. And to the movie too lol.
It all started when I first
watched ted-ed’s video " Why should you read "The Handmaid's Tale"? - Naomi R. Mercer " and I was like “hmmm, tell me why? ?” I clicked on the video and it was the best video I’ve seen all
day. It was 12 am, I searched on Google, “handmaid’s tale pdf free download”, and
I clicked on the first reasonable link I saw and quickly switched off my wifi
connection and made myself comfortable. Meaning I put my books away. I clicked
on the pdf in my downloads folder and lo and behold my journey began. I was so
excited the whole time, like waiting to wake up in the morning to eat chocos
and milk! I scrolled and to my surprise, it a graphic novel! I quickly went to
search if it was the real one. It was. And my train to dystopia has been
boarded by me. choo chooo
The whole time, I was
so attentive and excited, anxious, scared and and stressed. The graphic novel
did a veryyy good job on picturing the novel. I loved it so much. It was at
that moment, I knew I loved graphic novels. I mean I have always loved comics. Technically,
they’re graphic novels too.
Those two hours I spent
reading the 247 pages of dystopia haunted me for a couple of days. And I loved
it. When the haunting finally wore off, I wanted to read another. Just days
before I was asking chatgpt this: “recommend some dystopian graphic novels”. Well
the suggestions needed my wallet and I was not really that over the moon to
spend money to scare myself (I hate horror movies). I was really disappointed.
Like a miracle, a
friend told me they watched a movie. Curious George asked the name and quickly
fell in love with the small summary of the movie they give in Google. The movie
was none other than Gaami. Yesterday, my friend told me sh was going to a movie
with her family and I got so jealous. “even I want to go to a movie >:(“ as
soon as I went home I screamed “LETS GO TO A MOVIEEEE” my parents were really
surprised because I don’t watch movies, like at all. It’s a once in a blue moon
kind of thing. They immediately agreed. I immmmmmediately booked the tickets
and in an hour I find myself in the theatre.
See, I have adhd (undiagnosed). I take breaks while writing my blog-posts
(except poems). So I really can’t watch a 147min movie in a sitting. So glad
for the intermission in the middle, even though the movie wasn’t designed that
way. (They literally paused the video so I can go get my nachos).
I was on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. At the end with 20
minutes left, I was sitting there like 🙆♀️😨 .
The twist was truly amazing. Sometimes it’s not just about the twist but the way they reveal it, that’s what truly matters. And as I said and keep saying, the movie was amazing. It truly satisfied my dystopian content craving. The odds are crazy, like one day im searching and the next day it’s near my doorstep?? Love it so much Omg. the visuals were innnnnsane. i found myself blinking many times of the movie in wishes to capture the moment like i said in my recent post "re-remembered".
Love loveeee the movie, I truly recommend it.
Thank you for coming to my ted-talk. Thank you and I love you
